Religions
  • Egyptians were not set on just one religion. Their belifes consisted of mulitple gods for mulitiple purposes.
  • According to legend the pharaohs were capable of talking to the gods. Peasants considered them gods on earth. They were son's from the God of the sun.
Belief Systems, philosophies, and ideologies
  • Egyptians strongly belived in an afterlife.
  • The process of mumification helped insure that no matter what they did in there physical lilfe, they cleansing process helped them go to a proper after life.
  • The pharoah's royal tombs (pyramids) also made it certain that their most prized posetions and other miscellaneous items went with them.
Science and Technology
  • Nile societies were much slower than the mesopotamian societies when it came to science, discoveries, tools, weapons, and technology.
The arts and architecture
  • As a result of the pharoahs being treated as gods on earth, they were built royal tombs (a.k.a. pyramids).
  • The largest pyramid was Khufu.
  • Khufu consits of 2,300,000 limestone blocks.
  • Khufu took 20 years to build.
  • It was only during the new kingdom that pharoahs did not use pyramids as their tombs.
